Triple Gold!!!!!

Well Austin is a triple Gold medal winner at the Utah Summer Games. About a month ago my dad suggested that I look into taking Austin to compete. So after a week or two of contemplating I signed him up. It wasn't until after the payment was made that I realized that it was going to be a tough week for him. First he was at BYU Football camp from Monday until Thursday afternoon. What a great experience. He loved IT!!!!

Austin got great one on one coaching from his coach this week. Great pep talks from Bronco. He had a great time. His coach this week was Curtis Brown. And Austin loved every minute of it. There was a ton of past players that helped coach. It was a great week.

Here Austin is with Curtis Brown. Curtis told us he is a great player and looks forward to Austin coming in a few years and breaking all of his records. OH YEAH!!! Future Cougar here!!

Next on the list was on the last afternoon of the football camp after he checked out- we came home, did laundry and packed up the car. First we headed to Provo High school where he competed in the District Hershey track meet. He placed first in the 100 and 200 meter and second in the long jump (not his favorite event). So he has now qualified for the state meet which is on Saturday. We left that meet and headed to Cedar City. He ran first on Friday in the prelims and qualified for the finals on Saturday. On Saturday he ran first in the 100 meter and won his first gold medal.

While we were waiting for the 200 meter, a mother of an older runner found us in the stands and asked if Austin wanted to run on a relay team. 4 boys and one race later and he had his second gold medal. I call them the "stranger team". They had to come up with a name ten minutes before that race- they saw a Dasini water bottle and hence the name "Team Dasini". Whatever- boys.

All of the boys are older than Austin. After this race he only had time to get his number and wait for the 200. He won the 200 hundred, but you could tell he had just ran a race. His time was 25.33 and second place 25.44. PHEW!!!! That was a close one.

But it was a great week and we look forward to seeing Austin this week at the State meet. Wish him luck!!!!!

Lazy Day's of Summer-NOT

Wow Let's a summer review. Dani is in drill and loving it. She gets up at 5:45 every morning and has drill from 6-9. Then 3 days a week she a nanny for a family in the ward. It is the perfect schedule. She was in the Art City Days parade. The drill team looked great. She was also busy this last week with city youth council. She volunteered at the children's art festival and worked in the scone booth. Next week she will be off to girls camp of a day and then drill camp the rest of the week.Austin has started working for Bryan here and there. He is also running in Hershey track. The district meet is this Thursday. After that meet we will head down to Cedar City where he will run in the summer games on Friday and Saturday. Right know he is away at BYU football camp. It seems weird not having him here. I know he is only like 7-8 miles away. But it feels weird. His coaches include present and past coaches and players including Curtis Brown. He said yesterday that about 3 coaches asked him what his name was. He said not every one got asked their names. Coach Mendenhall came to orientation and gave the boys a really good pep talk. I only recorded a little bit and I will see if I can post it.

Next is Baylie, she also got to be in the parade. A perk of having a drill sister. She carried a banner and looked so cute. I switched dance studio's this summer and glad I did. She is in a summer dance class that works on turns and techniques. She loves it. She decided that she wanted to ride on a ride at the Carnival this year for Art City days. I got "classic" pictures that she does not do well with motion rides. It was so funny but her poor face.

Cooper is doing t-ball and loves it. He has a really good friend on the team and is having a blast. He loved the parade this year. We sat curb side so I could run and get pictures of the girls and man did he bank in the treat department. He got to play with my cousins twins named Coulter and Kaysen. They call him "Scooper". He had a blast with them. Yes, banana's and apples were handed out at the parade. Coop also wanted to ride the same motion ride as Baylie. And yes he was sick. Dani was a trooper to go on it with them, but everytime that ride came down Coop asked the worker to stop the ride. HAHA. So fun.

It has not been lazy day's of summer here at the Johnson household. Busy summer and we are only three weeks in!!!!!!!!
